Hello friends I hope all of you are safe and healthy. In time like this when we are spending most of our time at home it is necessary that you should have some hobby to keep you occupied . My hobby as you all know is cooking and I am doing just that . But I am trying out many dishes from other countries which are easy to cook and requires not many ingredients. Today I will share with you the recipe of fajita wraps.
In order to make these wraps you can use readymade tortilla wraps or you might make your own wraps . I am going to share with you the recipe for tortillas as well.
Ingredients for tortillas:-
Flour -2 cups
Baking powder -1 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Water as required
Procedure:-
Mix all the above ingredients and make a soft tight dough. Knead it for 5 mins then cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 15 mins . After 15 mins divide the dough into small balls . Roll it into 8 -10” circle as you wish . In medium heat make the tortillas and take care not to burn it .
Keep the wraps aside and start preparing the fillings .
Ingredients for the chicken fillings:-
Boneless chicken breast 300 gms
Red bell pepper -1
Yellow bell pepper -1
Capsicum - 1
Avocado -1
Onion -1 large
Cumin powder -1 tsp
Red pepper powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Oregano 1 tsp
Olive oil 4 tbsp
Lemon juice -2 tsp
Salt
Mayonnaise
Mozerrella cheese ( optional)
Procedure:-
First take the chicken breast and marinate it with red pepper , black pepper, salt, 1 tsp oil and lemon juice . Marinate the chicken at least for 3 hrs. While your chicken is getting marinated cut the vegetables . All the vegetables should be cut in long strips . After 3 hrs take a frying pan , put a tsp of olive oil and fry the chicken breast on both side for 5 mins until dark brown. Remove it from the pan and put it on a chopping board and cut it into long strips . Then take the frying pan and start tossing the vegetables in 2 tsp of oil . Add rest of the spices to it . When the vegetables become semi cooked add the chicken strips and give a toss for another 5 mins . Remove it from fire . Now take a wrap , put the fillings in the middle . Add mayonnaise. If you want you can sprinkle cheese above it and make a closed wrap or half closed wrap . Warm the wraps in a frying pan and serve it hot .
