Doi Sorsher Maacher Jhol : A Bengali Recipe

Bieng a Bengali I can vouch for other bongs that any meal in Bengali household is incomplete without a fish dish . We eat fish in all possible ways one can cook . But the most favourite way to cook fish is with Sorshe bata ( mustard paste) . So today I will share with you a recipe of Sorshe maach  which you can either steam cook or cook in a microwave. Ingredients :- 4-5 piece medium size fish 3 tablespoon mustard paste 1/2 cup yogurt 1 medium size onion cut into small pieces 1 medium size tomato cut into small pieces Coriander leaves cut into pieces 4 tablespoon of mustard oil for frying the fish 2 tablespoon of mustard oil for the yogurt mixture 1 teaspoon of salt 2 -3 numbers of green chilliest Procedure :- First heat the pan and fry the fish in the oil. APPLE CRUMBLE

Hello friends. It has been long time since I shared a recipe with you all. Just a few days back we had our Durga Puja and the festive season is going on with Diwali round the corner. So keeping this in mind I have decided to share with you another of my sweet recipe.  It is a sweet made with the seasonal fruit of winter. It is called the Apple Crumble. It goes very well with whipped cream or ice cream. But you may also have it as it is. Ingredients :- 2 nos medium sized apple peeled and cut into small sizes 10-15 raisins 2 teaspoon of lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder 2 teaspoon of sugar For the crust :-   100 gms flour 50 gms plain oats 50 gms brown sugar 50 gms butter 1 teaspoon of cinnamon Procedure:- First put the apple slices , raisins and sugar in a pan and let it cook in medium flame. Chicken In Coconut Gravy

Hi friends I hope you are liking the recipes I am sharing and trying out at your homes. Today I will share with you a recipe from our neighbouring country Burma or today's Myanmar. It is called Chicken Khowsey or one may say chicken in coconut gravy. Usually this gravy is applied over boiled noodles but I have found out that it also goes very nice with steamed rice. Although I have used chicken legs here one may use boneless chicken also. So let's begin with the recipe. It has been often said that morning shows the day and I think that if you have a good breakfast your day starts with a bang. So today I will share with you a breakfast  recipe  which would definitely make your day. It is called the Spanish omlette Ingredients:- 3 - eggs 1 medium sized onion cut into broad slices 1 small green capsicum cut into broad slices You can use red bell pepper also instead of capsicum or use them both. 1 large potato cut into thin round slices. 1tsp - mixed herbs 3-4 basil leaves Salt and pepper 4-5 tablespoon olive oil One Frankfurt sausage cut into thin round slices Procedure:- First heat the frying pan and put oil in it. Paneer Doi Sorshe : A Bengali Recipe

Hello friends I have come back with another recipe. Being a true bong I greatly relate myself with anything cooked with sorshe bata and if it is steamed then hands down it will win the competition in my list of favourite recipes. Although generally fish is used in this type of preparation but today I will share the recipe made with paneer. I will keep the steamed fish recipe for another day. In Bengal usually we call anything steamed as " Bhapa" . The term comes from the word " Bhap" which means steam in Bengali. So let's start the recipe of Bhapa Paneer or Paneer Doi Sorshe. Hello everybody. I thought I would start my blog writing with my favourite passion  food and that too cooked by me. Since I have a sweet tooth the dessert spread of any cuisine attracts me the most.  I always try out the simple ones at home. Today I will share with you all one such recipe . It is one of my favourite sweet - Shahi Tukra. One might call it an Indian version of bread pudding. Although it takes much more effort than bread pudding but the end result is just awesome. Any beginners can try this out because the procedure is very simple.
